Reading stories from a paper or your phone can make it easy to forget the human experiences behind every headline. Using my experience in print, online, and multimedia journalism, I aim to bridge Filipino communities and put a face to the headlines and data we encounter in our day-to-day lives.
I've told stories of...
I've covered the Marawi Siege since the extremist group Maute besieged the Islamic city in 2017. Since then, I told the narratives of the affected residents—from two Maranao students facing Islamophobia in their newfound homes, to the locals who continue to call for a localized approach to the city's rehabilitation. I debunk preconceived notions of Mindanao and Filipino Muslims through ethnographic journalism.
The GUIDON (Documentary)

Aside from financial derivatives, HB 6398 allows the MIF to invest in alternative investments such as unlisted equities, shares from a company that are not registered in the stock market.
Being born and raised in Mindanao has bled into my storytelling. The narratives of communities beyond the Metro and the people in it inspire me to continue what I do. Through human-centric storytelling, I hope to show a different perspective of what it means to be Filipino—that our national identity is a mosaic of various cultures, languages, and experiences.

The GUIDON (Explainer video)
Despite Marawi City's liberation in October 2017, Congress granted three extensions to Martial Law in Mindanao over looming threat of communist rebel groups. This calls us to ask: Is Martial Law what Mindanao really needs?
